Salagto Sawaal Anamat Gujarati Movie Faces Dozens of Suggested Government Edits

Makers of Udta Punjab celebrates the Bombay high court decision of clearing thier film with just one cut, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered 100 cuts for a film on Gujarat’s Patidar quota stir.

The Central Board of Film Certification, which routinely censors film content, said the movie appears to glamorize jailed political activist Hardik Patel, suggesting about 100 edits.

Its a Rajesh Gohil’s Gujarati film, Salagto Sawaal Anamat, which was about to release on June 17. The film is about protagonist, Dipak Patel, facing hardships due to the existing reservation system.

Director Rajesh Gohil told TOI, “The censor board member had told us that since a case of sedition is pending against Hardik, we cannot glorify his character. This is not true because my film is based on the quota agitation, not Hardik. If I will remove the word ‘Patidar’, the soul of the film will be gone.”“We will have to delay the film’s release now,”
